The article "Internet Surpasses Television as Main News Source for Young Adults" does not surprise me at all. The article says that over 65 percent of people in their twenty's say their main source of news is the Internet. This is not stunning because many people this age are constantly on the Internet throughout the day. The news only comes on at certain times through the day, so when these young people are surfing the Internet they are able to access the news at any time they want to, while looking at only the news that they would like. The Internet provides much more flexability with what news you can read and when you can read it compared to television. Everything is becoming digital and you can find nearly anything on the Internet, and I think that is why many people use the Internet to get their news.
One thing that I think is interesting about the article is the increase in the older population getting their news from the Internet. There is a large amount of people that dont like using the Internet unless they have to. I guess the increase is because of the increase of access to the internet almost anywhere. I thought that it was interesting that 38 percent of people ages 51 to 64 still read the newspaper as their main source for news. With the internet becoming so popular and big, it was interesting to see the number that high. I guess many of these people are just used to reading the paper that they don't have a need to change their habits.
I personally get my news from the television still. I think that by watching it on the television you can get a better view of what's going on. It may not be as convenient or as fast as using the Internet, but I personally think that it is the easiest and most effective ways.
